An amazing thing happened…this site was nominated for an award!

So yeah, after church on Sunday I came home, logged on to my email and found that the wonderful team from BeingRebekah had nominated my humble site for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award! Being a Sunday afternoon, I promptly dozed off for my afternoon nap…age has a big part to play in that decision..

So anyway, when I got up on Monday.. (kidding! it was still Sunday) I was dumbfounded and really surprised. I started this blog about 8 months ago with a desire to share my collections of ‘musings’ – I have been collecting random pieces of thought from my daily devotions and quiet time with God and I wanted to put them down someplace so that I would not forget them.

Initially I was disappointed to find that the highest daily readership of my posts was 0. Then I found that I could inflate the numbers by viewing it myself. That didn’t last long. So, long story short. I made a commitment to God that I would only write what He speaks. I will not bang my head on the wall to come up with topics. God has been faithful to my promise – he has been providing the spark to keep me going all these months. My daily readeership is above 0 now, but only just slightly. But you know what? It doesn’t matter – if God intends for his message to be read by a particular person, then all I care is for that one person to read it.

So without further ado..the VIB award:

Thank you very much BeingRebekah! I truly enjoy your blog and I encourage my readers (all two of you, including my wife) to check out their site too!

So in accordance with the rules of this award, here are 7 things about myself

  1. I am married with one teenage boy
  2. I fancy myself a guitarist – I make up for my mediocre skills by amassing many guitars. (I bought 5, and 2 ukeleles)
  3. I am a Sunday School teacher and I’m having a blast serving my God in this ministry
  4. I like smooth jazz
  5. I am also a worship leader for my Sunday School (but we don’t do jazz worship)
  6. I work in a large American bank
  7. I was a long distance runner and I have the busted knee and iPod playlist to prove it

It is also my honor to nominate this bunch of even more inspiring bloggers for the Very Inspiring Blogger award:

  1. ScottSholar
  2. The Peace Filled Life
  3. Ad-verse-ity
  4. MyFaithShallBeMyEyes
  5. The Good News With Cyndi Lu
  6. Cole Ryan
  7. re-Vers(sing) Verses
  8. the feminine heart
  9. OverwhelmedByJoy
  10. A City On A Hill
  11. Unshakeable Hope
  12. Scripture Nuggets
  13. Cristian Mihai
  14. This Day With God

You folks truly deserve the nomination. But do note the rules of this award:

1- Display the award logo on your blog
2- Link back to the person who nominated you.
3- State seven things about yourself.
4- Nominate fifteen other bloggers for this award and link to them.
5- Notify those bloggers of the nomination and the award’s requirements.

God Bless all of you for having the passion to speak your mind!

  1. Yes! Speak whatever you feel God lays on your heart for whether you see a success in numbers or not, more important is that your words make a difference… even if it’s only the heart of one! 🙂 We’re excited to be highlighting you as one of our guest bloggers this coming Sunday!! 🙂 God bless you and keep up sharing what God gives you with the world! 🙂
